Why Being “Too Much” is Actually Your Superpower

Have you ever been told to “quiet down”?

To stop being so sensitive? To stop being so dramatic? To just… fit in? If you are reading this, chances are you have spent a lifetime feeling like you are “too much” for the world around you.

Society loves “Normal.” Normal is predictable. Normal is quiet. Normal fits into a box. But here is the truth that took me 25 years to learn: Normal was never designed to set you free. Normal is designed to keep you small.

When people tell you that you are “too much,” what they are really saying is that your light is too bright for their eyes. They are uncomfortable with your intensity because they have suppressed their own.

Your “Weird” is Your Power.

The things that make you an outsider—your intense emotions, your unique way of seeing the world, your refusal to accept things as they are—are not flaws. They are your superpowers.

  • Your sensitivity is your empathy.
  • Your “weird” interests are your genius.
  • Your refusal to conform is your leadership.

Stop trying to soften your edges to fit into round holes. Stop shrinking yourself to make others comfortable. The world doesn’t need more “normal” people. The world needs YOU.

Today, I challenge you to embrace the parts of yourself that you’ve been hiding. Wear the outfit. Say the thing. Laugh too loud. FK Normal.**
